The Final Night is the 582nd chapter of the Kingdom manga.
Summary
A messenger brings a report of urgency to Den Ri Mi and the rest of the Ou Sen Army commanders. He informs them that the right wing has pushed the Zhao left wing back and have crossed their campgrounds and haven’t stopped as they are still pushing them while harassing their retreating armies’ rearguard. The messenger tells them to pass along his report to Ou Sen immediately, but the Qin General appears as he hears the news.
On the 12th day of the Battle at Shukai Plains, Ou Sen orders his center army of 30 thousand fresh soldiers in their peak condition to set out. Meanwhile over at the Qin left wing HQ, Mou Ten receives the news of Ou Sen’s center army finally beginning their advancing which shocks the members of the Gaku Ka as they wonder why Ou Sen decided to finally move.
Mou Ten explains that since their battles with the Ki Sui Army has remained in a deadlock, he concludes that something has changed over at the right wing’s battlefield. The Gaku Ka soldiers wonder if the right wing has defeated their opponents and moved in to pressure the Zhao but Mou Ten tells them that its unknown that has happened exactly but is sure that if something like that has happened then the center army’s reaction is natural. Gaku Gramps wonders who it is as the right wing lost A Kou and Mou Ten, with a smile, concludes that it means that Ou Hon and Shin are the ones behind the development which stuns the Gaku Ka soldiers. Just then a messenger reports that Ba Tei and his army have broken through their frontlines and are closing in on their HQ despite the sun almost setting. Mou Ten heads out to deal with Ba Tei to maintain the stalemate since the climax is fast approaching. Thinking to himself he congratulates his comrades in their efforts as the left wing doesn’t a chance at getting the past Ki Sui, but they still have a chance in winning the battle over well.
As the sun slowly sets and night arrives. The Qin right wing would continue in hounding the retreating Zhao armies until the sun fell, greatly pushing them back from the previous battle lines. With this development, the Ou Sen’s Center Army who pushed their way up to the halfway point of the battlefield were now able to launch an all-out frontal attack the very moment their right wing could break through Zhao’s left. That evening, the Hi Shin Units celebrate the night away. En gives an opening speech as he congratulates every one of the soldiers for the victory as they toast with water instead of wine having none left. While celebrating, Ten walks amongst the camps and congratulates the soldiers as they greet her. Thinking to herself she observes that while their moral is still incredibly high every one of them is still bearing serious injuries but haven’t noticed due to pushing it out of their minds with the high moral and worries that they might eventually reached a limit.
However, the real issue arrives as it’s the last day of handing out the remaining food, but Shin announces to the Hi Shin soldiers that this is the last food handout and with that in mind he decides for a change for once. Usually, the soldiers would line up to get food but today grouped together with in their squads the officers personally go out and gave food to all the soldiers. It’s a heart-warming scene where even the officers receive food from Shin himself but still aware of the limited food crisis and soldiers are advised to save up food for tomorrow.
As the Hi Shin soldiers talks about Ou Sen’s speech, Shin claims that the Zhao Great General’s head is good as theirs. Over at the Zhao Main HQ, Ri Boku and his commanders get the news what Ou Sen plans are and what the right wing has accomplished. We cut to a scene where Ri Boku revels his plans to delay the battle and states that as long, they stay in this advantageous position it’s the Zhao's Victory, either by the death of Ou Sen or to starve the Qin out.
