Non-Existent Arrow is the 859th chapter of the Kingdom manga, written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara.

Synopsis

On the Hi Shin Unit's battlefield, Ka Ryo Ten notices an opportunity to push forward and instructs Shin how best to do so. Shin calls for 50 riders to follow him and heads in. Right after Shin leaves, a messenger from the Gaku Ka Army appears with a message for Ten. As the Hi Shin Unit's soldiers surge forward, bolstered by the presence of their general, Ten learns the news of Yo Tan Wa's fall and injury, hearing that the Mountain King is still alive but had to withdraw, and that Mou Ten had promised to contain the fallout to his battlefield. As Shin pushes forward, Ten continues listening to the news and hears that an archer sent by Ri Boku had taken down both Yo Tan Wa and the Feego Tribe's Danto, and that Mou Ten had sent riders to all their fellow commanders.

Ten, aware that Mou Ten isn't the type of general to appear on the frontlines often, realizes that if the Zhao knew that as well, they could already have passed over the Gaku Ka's battlefield and already turned up at theirs, targeting either Kyou Kai or even Shin. Mou Ten's messengers share that Mou Ten had the same sentiment, and Ten begins issuing orders to inform their commanders and recall Shin.

Meanwhile, Sei Ka Un's unit cleared a path through Zhao's side of the battlefield, announcing that they had special orders from Ri Boku. As his unit heads for Shin's headquarters, they notice that the Hi Shin Unit's arrows were coming from unusually far. Sou Jin asks Taku Kei to manage the unit, and he and Tan begin targeting Zhao commanders far behind the frontlines. Sei Ka Un notices the Zhao commanders being taken out in quick succession and begins drawing an imaginary bow.

He spots Jin in the distance and aims his release, and Jin suddenly feels an arrow strike his neck. Tan sees him collapse to the ground, and after a moment, Jin realizes that there wasn't an actual arrow. Tan then takes an imaginary arrow to the head shortly after, and Jin realizes that their father had spoken of this "non-existent" arrow before, something he was unable to master himself, the White Shadow technique. Sei Ka Un senses their reactions and judges that Jin and Tan had strong minds. Sei Ka Un's soldiers inform him that Ri Shin had appeared on the frontlines, and he turns his attention towards where the Qin general had appeared.

Jin and Tan regroup and think about the situation. A messenger announces the presence of an enemy archer targeting their officers, making Jin realize that Shin is his target, since an archer of that skill level wouldn't be targeting mere officers. Sei Ka Un spots Shin and begins to nock his bow, ready to end Shin's head, when all of a sudden, he feels an arrow pierce his head, which sends him staggering. From a faraway distance, Jin tells his brother that he thought that he had hit him, while Sei Ka Un shows his annoyance at Jin's strike.
