A Sight To Behold is the 702nd chapter of the Kingdom manga, written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara.
Summary
After two days of solitary reflection, Ri Boku informs his staff that he will go north for ten days to Gian. Shun Sui Ju confirmed that the defense line behind the two fortresses had been completed yesterday. Shun Sui Ju and Ba Nan Ji are entrusted with the defense of the area during his absence, Kaine accompanied him.
Shun Sui Ju orders Fu Tei to prepare the army to deploy to the south. The two generals coming from Seika, Gaku Shou and Jyou Ka Ryuu, who accompanied him to Kantan wonder about Ri Boku's decision to go so far to the north. Gaku Shou, thinks that they already have an advantage with the great wall already in place, and if then everything happens as Ri Boku has planned, Qin will have a huge disadvantage.
When he and Kaine arrive in the snow-covered lands of Gian, Ri Boku says that it is even better than he expected.
Meanwhile, the soldiers of Hi Shin Unit celebrate the new year, 14th year of Ei Sei reign (233 BC), on the frontlines near Heiyou. Since the armies of Zhao had entrenched themselves in the two fortresses, the armies of Ou Sen and Kan Ki can begin their siege. The Kan Ki Army uses a strange siege tower, called Kou Shun, for climbing the walls of Heiyou. It is a creation of Han Zen who, after seeing the towers of Go Hou Mei during the Coalition's invasion years ago, tried duplicating them, but it shows a very limited stability and efficiency.
On Ou Sen side, the Third Great and Den Ri Mi and their scouting party go to see what is beyond the two fortresses. It is there that they saw a striking thing, a 125 km length wall in front of them.
Three years ago, Ri Boku had ordered to fortify the defense of Heiyou and Bujou by connecting the forts and hills behind the two cities using earthen walls to contract a fortified great wall. After the loss of Gyou and Ri Boku's exile from the imperial court, the Prime Minister Kaku Kai continued construction of the wall, sticking to Ri Boku's intended designs. Due to the high number of forts and walls scattered to the south of Kantan, the Zhao's Great Wall necessitated over 100 kilometers to connect them.
Ou Sen asks his soldiers for a map of the entirety state of Zhao and after pondering, the Great General points his finger to the north of Kantan, to Gian.
