Showdown of the Generals is the 71st chapter of the Kingdom manga, written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara.

Summary

The two opposing Great Generals of Wei and Qin are now face to face with each other in front of tens of thousands of soldiers. Go Kei orders his men to stay back.

Heki is surprised to see that Go Kei agreed to this duel as Duke Hyou martial arts skill are far superior then Go Kei. Both crossed blades and Shin could feel the heat of the battle. Both Go Kei and Duke Hyou are cut. Heki believes that they are equally matched. Then they start swinging their weapons to each other. Everyone is watching this duel as it unfolds. Including Tou and Ou Ki as suddenly the Wei soldiers are starting to cheer for Go Kei. Shin realizes these cheers will boost Go Kei strength. Shin knows that the outcome of this war will be decided by this duel.

Shin tells everyone to start cheering for Duke Hyou in order to increase is power too. One Duke Hyou soldiers tells him that this will not be necessary. The moment Go Kei accepted this duel the victor was decided. Shin asks him why the victor is already decided. The soldiers’ answers there are only a handful of individuals who can defeat Duke Hyou in a one-on-one match. Shin in turn asks him if Duke Hyou is holding back. This is however not the case as he is just getting to know Go Kei. It is however about the time that Duke Hyou will make a move.

Duke Hyou then went for the finishing blow as he then tells Go Kei that he could feel his spirit in the first exchange but lost him in the second. He then asks him what where the reasons for accepting this duel. Suddenly Duke Hyou is wounded. Go Kei tells him that he will show what is in his core.
