The Hi Shin Unit's Assignment is the 677th chapter of the Kingdom manga, written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara.
Synopsis
The Gyoku Hou Army are in midst of fighting fiercely against the overwhelming forces of the Ko Chou Army on the battlefield. During the melee stray arrows fly towards Ou Hon which he easily deflects but his horse isn't so lucky as it killed by them, and he falls to the ground while also suddenly getting charged by a cavalry unit of Zhao soldiers heading his way while Ban Yu screams in terror. Later both Kaku Kai in Kantan and Ri Boku along with Kaine and Fu Tei in Seika receive the news about the battle in their respective cities.
Meanwhile in the Hi Shin's encampment, a meeting about the current situation is held as it's been eight days since the start of the battle and Kan Ki Army is on the back foot. At around the same time Ou Sen, A Kou, Den Ri Mi, and Sou Ou are also discussing what exactly Kan Ki planning could be. They are then visited by Mou Ten who asks to deploy the Hi Shin Army, but Ou Sen rejects his proposal and then explains that it was Kan Ki's request to keep them in the middle for further use.
Back at the Hi Shin’s HQ and camp, Ten receives orders from Ba'In, Kan Ki's massager, to join the battle while Shin asks about the situation and Ba'in replies that it is not good and, the Hi Shin Army then set out towards the battlefield. Over at Ou Sen's HQ, they receive the news about the reinforcement deployment and question if it will even help Kan Ki with Sou Ou wondering why Kan Ki did not use them earlier and Den Ri Mi answers that it is foolish to think that 15,000 will make a difference in a battle between 80,000 and 240,000 but Mou Ten believes that the Hi Shin’s strength might create an opportunity for Kan Ki’s forces to regroup.
Ou Sen then asks Mou Ten his thoughts about Kan Ki's planning and the young general replies that he believes that Kan Ki's goal is to take Ko Chou's head. At the same time a massager arrives, and they learn that the left wing of the Kan Ki Army is all but decimated along with the Gyoku Hou.
With the thought of Ou Hon possibly dead, Mou Ten becomes worried and upset while the Ou Sen upper echelon was already aware of the situation. While he was fully aware too, Mou Ten cannot help but show his emotions as he even yells at the apathic Great General to worry about his son but leaves after receiving news about enemies moving near the Gaku Ka’s position. With Ai Sen asking if anything was wrong Mou Ten recompose himself and answers No as he silently thinks to himself that Ou Hon is still alive and wishes Shin good luck in his battle too while asking him to save Ou Hon. The chapter ends with Shin and co. arriving at the battlefield with shocked expressions at the scene.
