House of the Peach Spring is the 644th chapter of the Kingdom manga, written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara.

Summary

Kaku Kai visits a weary Ri Boku in a prison to inform of his impending execution and the final location as they will be no more delays by the king's order. The Zhao official asks Ri Boku if he has any final words. Ri Boku, ever dedicated to his military duties, tells Kaku Kai that Qin armies are sure to mount an offensive to take advantage of Zhao's upcoming chaos and a defensive strategy should revolve around stopping them at Heiyou.

Kaku Kai asks if he has anything to add. Ri Boku tells him to let Kaine and his vassals to not do anything foolish after his death. As Kaku Kai and his attendant leave, his attendant asks his lord if he will pass on Ri Boku's final words to Great General Ko Chou and Shun Sui Ju, but he gets his nose broken by an amused Kaku Kai as the wickedly twisted official mockingly refuses.

Meanwhile in the throne room, Prince Ka, in tears, begs his father Tou Jou spare Ri Boku's life. Tou Jou seeing his son pleading, bids him to step forward and the Zhao king uncharacteristically hugs his son, telling him that he has grown since his last saw him. But king bites off a piece of his son's ear with his teeth while hugging him. Tou Jou orders Ka and his attendants to leave immediately but before Ka and his attendant exchange looks of intensity. Afterwards, Tou Jou tells Kou Hi, his concubine, to summon Kaku Kai but changes his and instead to summon Ei, the royal record keeper first.

Meanwhile in Gyou, the armies of Qin ready themselves for the new offensive against Zhao. Inside the city, Shin and members of the Hi Shin Army meets with Mou Ten and the Gaku Ka Army as they're order to leave the city and prepare themselves for an all-out offensive as they monitor Kantan's movements. Shun Sui Ju, Kaine and some others discuss on how to rescue Ri Boku on the day of his execution. Tou Jou dies on the floor of the House of the Peach Spring in a pool of his own blood after getting poisoned.
