Summary
Shin leads his cavalry unit into faint attack. He receives the news that the first group of the Hi Shin infantries have started to climb the cliff.
Meanwhile in Qin's HQ, Ten is visited by Ban You. She asks about Ou Hon, and he answers that he is still asleep. They then observe the progress of the climb and realize the real struggle starts here. Zhao have noticed their plan and realized that they had to be briefed by the Gyoku Hou. As the troops progress in their climb Bi Hei almost falls to his death but is caught by Kei and Kou. When they reach halfway point, they are meet with the rain of rocks from the top. Many soldiers die, crushed by the falling stones. Suu Gen orders them to move to the left where the cliff is steeper, but they will be shielded from the rocks.
Ban You loses his hope as more than half of soldiers already fallen, but Ten is still confident in them. Kyou Rei gets cocky and rushes up leaving the rest in the back, but eventually loses her focus and falls. However, Kou is able to catch her at the last moment. She is then scolded by Kan To and agrees to slow down, since they need her strength on the top.
In the Hi Shin/Gyoku Kou HQ, Ban You is still not convinced that taking the climb is possible, but Ten rebuffs and states that the Hi Shin Army's cavalry may lack the same quality as the Gyoku Kou and Gaku Ka their infantry is far superior then either. Their soldiers being made up of former commoners that have always been used to harsh physical work and were trained and honed through countless hours of difficult selection process. They inherited Shou Sa's will and acquired unwavering strength through sheer effort. The chapter ends with the Hi Shin infantry reaching the top of the cliff.
