A General's Duty is the 697th chapter of the Kingdom manga, written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara.
Summary
In Kantan, the citizens of Zhao despair as they learn about the massacre. The news also reaches Kanyou. An angry Sei asks the envoy Mi Kai how many Kan Ki has killed, and he answers that it's many tens of thousands of prisoners. Everyone is in shock and Sei sits down and covers his face with his hands. Ri Shi says that they are in delicate situation since this will severely damage their reputation.
He then claims that making Kan Ki one of the Qin Six was a mistake as he misunderstood the freedom of war, they gave him as he is beyond their control. Ei Sei quiets him and asks Shou Hei Kun how many soldiers under his direct command can they muster of Hyou Shiga's Black Cavalry Unit and Kou Ryuu's Unit. Shou Hei Kun asks where he intends to send them and Sei answers that obviously to Kan Ki.
Meanwhile in Hi Shin Unit's encampment, Rei vomits but Kou helps her through it. She says she's been feeling sick for a while and Kou tells her about the massacre.
Shin is furious about the fact that he wasn't there to stop the massacre. He wants to immediately punish the Kan Ki Army, but a tearful Ten refuses him and says if he serious about it then he should resign his position of a general. She thinks their duty now is to protect Kan Ki Army from a potential attack of Zhao. Shin shouts that if they do that then Kan Ki's going to get away scot-free. Ten breaks into tears and says that it's not going to happen as the one who's going to punish Kan Ki will be king of Qin, Ei Sei.
Nine days later the scouts of Kan Ki Army notice an army marching. The messenger informs a sulking Ma Ron about it, but he is not shaken, since he thinks it's the reinforcements. However, it turns out to be the Kings Army led personally by the Qin King.
